Dewa’s Record-Breaking H1 2026 Financial Performance

Wed, Aug 12, 2026(3h ago)Finance

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has achieved a major financial milestone for the first half of 2026, reporting its highest-ever revenue of Dh14.86 billion—a 1.8 percent rise compared to last year. This steady growth was underpinned by a robust 15.02 percent jump in net profit, which reached Dh3.33 billion. These strong figures were largely propelled by a consistent increase in demand for electricity, water, and cooling services across the emirate, reflecting Dubai's ongoing urban and commercial expansion.

To meet future demand, Dewa is aggressively expanding its clean energy infrastructure. Currently, the authority boasts an installed capacity of 17,979 megawatts, with renewables accounting for over 21 percent of its energy mix. By 2030, the utility giant aims to scale this significantly, targeting 23 gigawatts of power and a major expansion in seawater reverse osmosis desalination. Alongside these infrastructure projects, Dewa continues to grow its reach, recently adding over 18,000 new customer accounts in the second quarter alone, while maintaining a reliable dividend policy that promises a further payout of Dh3.1 billion by October 2026.
