Dubai Announces Free Public Parking for Hijri New Year

Sat, Jun 13, 2026(6h ago)UAE

In celebration of the upcoming Hijri New Year, Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially announced that public parking will be free across the city on Monday, June 15, 2026. This initiative allows residents and visitors to enjoy the public holiday without the worry of paying for street-side parking spaces, though it is important to note that this exemption does not apply to multi-storey parking facilities, which will remain under standard operations.

Normal parking fee regulations are scheduled to return the following day. Drivers should plan accordingly, as standard tariffs will resume across all public zones on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. The RTA encourages motorists to adhere to parking regulations once the holiday concludes to avoid any potential fines.
