UAE weather: Fog alert issued as temperatures climb to 41°C

Sun, Jul 5, 2026(12h ago)UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology has issued a yellow alert for fog across parts of the UAE as the country experiences a mix of fair to partly cloudy skies. While some low-lying clouds are expected along the east coast, residents in major cities should prepare for another hot day. Temperatures in Dubai are set to peak at 41°C, while Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will see highs reaching 40°C. Winds will remain light to moderate throughout the day, occasionally picking up speed to 35 kmph, with sea conditions expected to be slight to moderate.

We are currently in the midst of "Jamrat Al Qayth," the most intense phase of the summer heat, which began in early July and is expected to last until August 10. Despite the scorching conditions—which saw temperatures climb as high as 48.1°C in Al Dhafra recently—some areas enjoyed a brief respite on Friday. Storm Centre footage captured refreshing rainfall over the Fujairah and Khor Fakkan mountains, offering a welcome break from the relentless summer intensity.
