Two men fined Dh50,000 each for assaulting petrol station attendant

Thu, Aug 20, 2026(5h ago)UAE

The Al Ain Misdemeanour Court recently handed down a stern ruling against two individuals who physically attacked a petrol station employee during a dispute over a windshield cleaning request. The altercation began when the attendant asked the pair to wait briefly because the station was busy, a request that quickly spiraled into a heated argument and eventually physical violence. As a result of the assault, the worker sustained documented injuries, which were later verified by a medical report.

In addition to the substantial Dh50,000 fine each, the court has mandated that both men complete two months of community service at the very same petrol station where the incident occurred. The verdict relied heavily on clear surveillance footage, witness accounts, and the defendants' own admissions. By invoking the Crimes and Penalties Law, the judiciary reinforced that any form of violence against public service workers is a serious offense, urging the public to resolve disagreements through appropriate channels rather than resorting to force.
