Dubai’s RTA Extends E-Bike Delivery Services to Seven New Neighborhoods

Tue, Jul 28, 2026(45d ago)UAE

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is broadening its e-bike delivery initiative, adding seven new residential and commercial hubs to its network. Following a successful pilot program that debuted in four zones back in February, the service now spans 11 locations, including high-traffic areas like Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, and Dubai Media City. This strategic growth, which also incorporates districts such as Al Twar and Al Qusais, is designed to support the city’s long-term sustainability goals and its push to optimize logistics under the Commercial and Logistics Land Transport Strategy 2030.

The RTA carefully selected these new locations by evaluating existing cycling infrastructure, the density of restaurants and retail outlets, and the overall demand for soft mobility solutions. By partnering with private delivery operators, the authority has established a robust framework that prioritizes public safety and operational efficiency. The initial pilot phase yielded impressive results, boasting a 99 percent customer satisfaction rate and over 90 percent rider approval, prompting the RTA to formalize updated licensing and compliance standards to accommodate the rapidly expanding delivery sector across the emirate.
