UAE Weather Forecast: Cooler Conditions Expected Alongside Dusty Skies

Sun, May 17, 2026(96d ago)UAE

The National Centre of Meteorology has issued a forecast for Sunday, May 17, predicting a dusty day across the UAE with some cloud cover developing over eastern regions. Residents should prepare for light to moderate winds shifting from southeasterly to northwesterly, which are expected to pick up pace throughout the day. These gusts, reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h, will likely stir up sand and dust, potentially reducing visibility in certain areas.

Despite the wind, the heat remains a factor, with peak temperatures projected to hit 42ÂșC in parts of the country. Abu Dhabi and Dubai are bracing for highs of 40ÂșC and 39ÂșC, respectively. However, there is a silver lining for those looking for relief, as temperatures are expected to dip slightly moving westward, with lows dropping to between 23ÂșC and 26ÂșC. Meanwhile, those heading to the coast should note that maritime conditions will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea will remain generally moderate.
