Regional Nations Stand with UAE Following Drone Strike Near Barakah Plant
Following a recent drone strike that ignited an electrical generator near the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region, the United Arab Emirates has launched a formal investigation into the incident. Authorities confirmed that Emirati air defense systems successfully intercepted two of the three hostile drones, though one managed to strike a facility located just outside the plant’s inner perimeter. While the UAE works to secure its borders and assess the damage, the incident has drawn immediate international attention and widespread concern regarding regional safety.
In a swift display of solidarity, several Gulf nations and Egypt have issued firm condemnations, labeling the attack a dangerous provocation and a blatant violation of international law. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Egypt all voiced their unwavering support for the UAE’s sovereignty, emphasizing that such hostile actions threaten the stability of the entire region. Furthermore, GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohammed Albudaiwi warned that targeting vital infrastructure poses significant risks to global energy supplies and civilian safety, reiterating that these acts of aggression are entirely unacceptable under established legal and diplomatic standards.
