Sharjah Introduces Stricter Healthcare Oversight and Penalties
The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), led by Crown Prince Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, has officially amended the emirate’s healthcare regulations to improve service standards and ensure greater accountability. Under the new Executive Council Resolution No. 29 of 2025, stricter oversight will now apply to all public, private, and free-zone healthcare facilities, as well as the medical professionals operating within them. By introducing formal administrative penalties for those who fail to meet established regulatory standards, the government aims to safeguard patient rights and elevate the overall quality of medical care provided to residents.
Beyond these healthcare reforms, the SEC also conducted a comprehensive review of the emirate's fiscal performance for the second half of 2025. The meeting highlighted significant progress across various sectors, including infrastructure, social development, and economic growth. Officials noted that Sharjah’s current financial strategy remains robust, with a focus on sustainable resource management and efficient government spending. These updates reflect the emirate's ongoing commitment to aligning its long-term strategic objectives with the delivery of high-quality public services.
