Protect Yourself: Dubai Police Issue Warning Against Summer Travel Scams

Tue, May 19, 2026(49d ago)UAE

As summer approaches and UAE residents begin scouting for bargain flight tickets and hotel packages, Dubai Police have issued a critical warning regarding a spike in fraudulent travel schemes. Scammers are increasingly leveraging social media and sophisticated fake websites to entice travelers with "too good to be true" discounts. By impersonating legitimate travel agencies and using professional branding, these criminals create a false sense of security, pressuring victims into making urgent payments for reservations that simply do not exist.

To avoid falling victim to these predators, authorities advise residents to book only through officially licensed travel agencies and verified platforms. It is essential to exercise extreme caution when clicking on promotional links and to verify the authenticity of a website before inputting any financial information. Dubai Police strongly urge the public never to transfer funds to personal bank accounts or share sensitive credentials with unknown parties. If you encounter a suspicious offer or believe you have been targeted, report the incident immediately via the official e-Crime portal or by dialing 901 for non-emergency assistance.
