Dubai Readies for Eid Al Adha with Five Authorized Slaughterhouses

Tue, May 19, 2026(94d ago)UAE

With Eid Al Adha approaching, Dubai Municipality has confirmed the readiness of five official abattoirs to manage the anticipated surge in sacrificial animal requests. Located in Al Qusais, Al Quoz, Al Lisaili, and Hatta, these facilities are equipped to process up to 1,000 livestock per hour under strict veterinary supervision. To ensure public health, a specialized team of over 400 personnel, including medical experts, butchers, and supervisors, will oversee every step of the process—from the initial health inspection to the final packaging—to ensure that all procedures meet both religious and hygiene standards.

Residents are strongly urged to avoid private, unregulated slaughtering, which poses significant environmental and health risks. Instead, the municipality encourages the use of three approved smart applications that offer convenient end-to-end services, allowing individuals to handle their Qurbani requests without needing to visit the facilities in person. For those choosing to visit the abattoirs, detailed operating hours have been set throughout the Eid period, beginning on the Day of Arafah and continuing through the four days of the holiday. By utilizing these professional, tech-integrated services, the city aims to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all residents while managing an expected 20,000 livestock sacrifices this year.
