UAE Deploys Medical Missions to Ensure Safe Hajj Experience
To ensure the well-being of its citizens during this year's Hajj, the UAE has launched a robust "Healthy and Safe Hajj" initiative. As part of these preparations, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) confirmed that all Emirati pilgrims have completed their mandatory vaccinations—including those for meningococcal disease, influenza, and pneumonia—before departing for the Holy Sites. Medical teams have already been stationed in Makkah and surrounding areas, ready to provide continuous support. These teams are equipped to handle everything from routine screenings for blood pressure and sugar levels to complex emergency triage, with specialized ambulances and mobile clinics stationed across Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat to facilitate rapid medical response.
Beyond immediate clinical support, the UAE is placing a heavy emphasis on preventive care and patient awareness. Officials are actively disseminating health guidelines via digital platforms, urging pilgrims to prioritize hydration, avoid harsh sun exposure, and utilize face masks in crowded environments. This proactive approach extends well beyond the pilgrimage itself; the ministry has implemented a long-term follow-up program involving electronic health records to monitor returnees. By combining meticulous pre-departure planning with a comprehensive post-Hajj checkup system, the UAE aims to provide a seamless healthcare safety net, ensuring that high-risk groups, such as the elderly and those with chronic conditions, can complete their rituals with comfort and peace of mind.
