A Taste of Indian Heritage: PM Modi’s Thoughtful Gifts to the UAE Royals
During his recent visit to the UAE, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought to strengthen bilateral ties through a series of culturally rich gestures. Beyond the formal discussions on defense, energy, and infrastructure, the Prime Minister presented the UAE Royal Family with a curated selection of India’s finest artisanal and agricultural treasures. These gifts, which ranged from GI-tagged delicacies to intricate, handcrafted metalwork, served as a tangible bridge between the two nations, highlighting the deep appreciation for traditional craftsmanship that both cultures hold dear.
For the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the selection included Meghalayan pineapples, Gujarat’s renowned Kesar mangoes, and a stunning Rogan painting featuring the 'Tree of Life' motif. Meanwhile, Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak was presented with Manipur’s nutrient-dense 'Black Rice' (Chak-Hao), elegant Maheshwari silk from Madhya Pradesh, and a silver Karimnagar Filigree box. The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, received premium Mithila Makhana and a ceremonial dagger adorned with traditional Koftgari work, an artistic homage to the martial history shared by both Indian and Emirati heritage. These thoughtful offerings not only showcased the diversity of India’s regions but also reinforced the warm diplomatic rapport between the two leaders.
