Abu Dhabi Gets Festive: 3,800 Lights Installed for Eid Al Adha
As Eid Al Adha approaches, Abu Dhabi has undergone a stunning transformation, with over 3,800 decorative light installations brightening the cityscape. This year’s theme centers on a sophisticated, unified palette of off-white, cream, and pale yellow, creating a serene glow across iconic locations like the Corniche, King Abdullah Street, and Al Maqta Bridge. The decor features more than 1,200 elegant spherical lights suspended between lamp posts and intricate geometric designs at the base of streetlights, lending a polished and festive atmosphere to the capital.
Beyond the signature central displays, the city is vibrant with a broader spectrum of colors, including red, turquoise, green, and yellow. These installations celebrate the holiday through beautiful Arabic calligraphy and traditional greetings like "Eidukum Mubarak," framed by patterns inspired by classic Islamic geometric art. Spanning across major thoroughfares such as Sheikh Zayed Street and various bridges and islands, these decorations highlight Abu Dhabi's unique ability to blend deep-rooted cultural heritage with a modern, global aesthetic, as noted by Khalid Allaq Al Hamadi of the Abu Dhabi City Municipality.
