UAE Fully Prepared for Eid Al Adha Livestock Imports
The UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has officially confirmed its state of readiness for the upcoming Eid Al Adha season. By implementing rigorous health and veterinary protocols at all national ports of entry, the Ministry aims to bolster food security while maintaining the highest standards of public health. Specialized teams are currently operating around the clock, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and quarantine systems to ensure that all imported livestock are free from infectious and zoonotic diseases before entering the country.
Data released by the Ministry shows a significant increase in demand, with over 664,000 head of livestockāincluding sheep, goats, and camelsāprocessed between the start of the year and mid-May. This represents a 19.5 percent rise in imports compared to the same timeframe last year, a growth attributed to the efficiency of the UAEās modernized inspection systems. By leveraging digital surveillance and strictly enforcing biosecurity regulations, the Ministry continues to safeguard both national livestock resources and the safety of consumers throughout the holiday period.
