Fujairah Authorities Crack Down on Counterfeit Goods
Since the beginning of 2026, the Fujairah Municipality has ramped up its efforts to clean up the local market, successfully seizing over 900 counterfeit items during recent inspection drives. The confiscated goods, which include a mix of luxury-branded clothing, sports footwear, and suits, were pulled from circulation to protect consumers from fraudulent products. These targeted campaigns, which gained significant momentum in January and May, underscore the emirate's firm stance against trademark violations and the distribution of unauthorized merchandise.
The UAE is maintaining a zero-tolerance policy toward commercial fraud, reinforced by Federal Decree-Law No. 42 of 2023. This legislation makes it illegal to produce, store, or sell counterfeit goods, with stiff penalties in place for those who ignore the rules. As authorities across the nation, including those in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, continue to act on consumer reports and social media monitoring, residents are being encouraged to shop cautiously and report any suspicious advertisements to help keep the marketplace safe and authentic.
