Breaking Language Barriers: UAE Startup Brings AI-Powered Friday Sermons to All
A UAE-based startup, KhutbahFlow, is set to revolutionize the religious experience for the country’s diverse expat community by launching an AI-driven platform for Friday sermons. Expected to debut later this year, the service will provide real-time translations of sermons into over 30 languages, including Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Mandarin, and Swahili. Worshippers can simply scan a QR code at participating mosques to access these translations, ensuring that the message is inclusive and accessible to the UAE's multicultural population of over 200 nationalities.
Founder Mohammed Ahmad, who developed the venture after returning from the UK, believes this is the ideal era for entrepreneurs to leverage AI for rapid prototyping and problem-solving. Beyond this tech initiative, the recent Khalifa Fund Entrepreneurship Competition highlighted other local innovators, such as Baynuna Gene Solutions, which aims to produce diagnostic testing kits domestically. These projects underscore the growing maturity of the UAE’s startup ecosystem, supported by organizations like the Khalifa Fund, which continues to provide the mentorship and resources necessary to build sustainable, globally relevant businesses within the region.
