UAE Forecast: Fair Skies and Rising Temperatures as Summer Begins

Sun, Jun 21, 2026(7h ago)UAE

Residents across the UAE should prepare for fair to partly cloudy conditions this Sunday, June 21, particularly across the country’s eastern regions. According to the latest update from the National Centre of Meteorology, temperatures are set to climb significantly, with Abu Dhabi expected to hit 42ºC and Dubai reaching 43ºC. Those in Al Ain will face the most intense heat, with the mercury projected to peak at 46ºC. Along with the heat, the region will see light to moderate winds shifting from northwesterly to southeasterly, occasionally picking up speeds of up to 35kmph, while sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea remain relatively calm.

This date also carries seasonal significance, as June 21 marks the official start of summer with the arrival of the summer solstice. While this shift in the calendar brings the season into full swing, local weather experts have noted that the intense heat arrived earlier than usual this year, largely influenced by the El Nino phenomenon. Meteorologists are warning that this year's summer period is likely to be hotter than those observed in recent years, prompting residents to remain cautious as temperatures continue to rise across the Emirates.
