Sharjah Urges Residents to Keep Corridors Clear and Utilize Proper Disposal Services

Sat, Aug 22, 2026(1h ago)UAE

Sharjah Civil Defence has issued a stern reminder to residents, emphasizing that building corridors, emergency exits, and stairwells must remain completely free of furniture and personal belongings. These communal areas are critical safety zones, and obstructing them with appliances, boxes, or discarded household items poses a significant risk during evacuations. Beyond the clear safety hazards, leaving these items in public spaces is not only an eyesore but is also against the law, as such actions interfere with the rights of others and violate building safety regulations.

To help residents manage bulky waste responsibly, the environmental management company Bee’ah offers a convenient, free collection service known as "You Call We Haul." Instead of abandoning old furniture or electronics near garbage bins, residents are encouraged to schedule a pick-up by calling 800 9294 or by submitting a request through the official Bee’ah website. By uploading photos and choosing a preferred collection time, citizens can ensure their unwanted items are disposed of or recycled correctly, helping to maintain a safer and cleaner living environment for everyone in the community.
