Dubai’s Heritage Welcomes Travelers at DXB
Travelers landing at Dubai International Airport are being greeted by a unique slice of history as they navigate the arrivals area. Until September 7, the airport is showcasing recreated historic doors inspired by the traditional architecture of Al Shindagha, Al Fahidi, and Deira. This initiative, a collaboration between Dubai Municipality, Dubai Airports, and the GDRFA, transforms the journey through the terminal into an immersive cultural experience, offering visitors a glimpse into the emirate’s roots before they encounter the skyscrapers of the modern city.
By featuring iconic designs like the doors from the historic Sheikh Saeed House, officials aim to highlight the Emirati spirit of hospitality, where a door represents much more than a physical entrance—it is a symbol of a warm welcome. By integrating these heritage displays into one of the world's busiest travel hubs, the city hopes to foster a deeper connection between international guests and local traditions. Ultimately, the project serves as an invitation for tourists to venture beyond the airport and explore the timeless, culturally rich districts that helped shape Dubai’s unique identity.
