Dubai Police Issues Strict Warning Against Fireworks Ahead of Eid Al Adha

Sun, May 24, 2026(90d ago)UAE

As Eid Al Adha approaches, Dubai Police has issued a stern reminder regarding the dangers and legal consequences associated with the illegal use or trade of fireworks. While these items may seem like a festive way to celebrate, authorities have cautioned that they pose significant risks to both property and public safety. Under Federal Decree Law No. 17 of 2019, those caught importing, exporting, manufacturing, or trading fireworks without a valid license face severe penalties, including a minimum one-year prison sentence and a fine of at least Dh100,000.

Beyond firework safety, Dubai Municipality has ramped up inspection efforts across the city to ensure public well-being throughout the holiday. Teams are working around the clock to monitor food safety in eateries, as well as hygiene standards in hotels, salons, and public facilities. This includes specialized testing for henna products and rigorous quality checks on retail goods like toys and cosmetics. By maintaining active surveillance at all entry points and within community markets, authorities aim to ensure a safe and seamless celebration for all residents and visitors.
